Merrell Spartan Trail Takes On The City Of Pines With A Bang!
BAGUIO CITY, PHILIPPINES – Merrell, a leader in outdoor lifestyle apparel and footwear, and Spartan, the authority in outdoor fitness events, mounted a successful return to the trail with Spartan Trail Baguio. The race, which consists of a half-marathon trek across Benguet’s picturesque pine forests as well as a 10-km run, saw seasoned athletes and beginners embark on a journey of physical endurance and mental fortitude.
The event saw a few celebrities challenging themselves on the trail. Actress Glaiza De Castro shares in an Instagram post, “It’s amazing how nature can give us comfort in times of hardship if you can just stop for a while and breathe it all in. I felt almost emotional when we got to the finish line.”
First-time Spartan racer Actress Valeen Montenegro muses, “Can’t explain how proud I am of myself for conquering this Spartan Race. First trail run and I never felt so alive and in my element. For those who are thinking of joining and trying—do it!!! It’s an experience!”
Being a non-stranger to Spartan events, YouTube sensation Kimpoy Feliciano celebrated his 2nd time conquering the trail. Likewise, Actors Fino Herrera and Vaness Del Moral shared their victory over Baguio’s terrain on Instagram.
Merrell brand ambassadors Angel Juarez, Gerald Tipones, Charmaine Arrazola, and Sherlyn Fugaban also took on Baguio’s steep and slippery course, finishing the 21-km half-marathon. Sherlyn once again proves her honorary title as “Trail Queen”, finishing 1st in the 30-39 women’s age group.
Other notable finishers representing Merrell were lifestyle content creators Cha Ocampo and Charlene Ajose, fitness personalities Tinoy Borromeo, Cyrene Morales, Steven Near, Kezh Landicho, Rey Talosig, Melissa Tabalingcos, and Lin Javier.
Following the success of Spartan Trail Baguio, racers will brace for another leg of the Spartan Trailfecta in Anda, Bohol on April 2 with a 10-km beach-side race.
