Merrell Spartan Trail Embarks On Its First Ever Beach Run In Anda, Bohol!
BOHOL, PHILIPPINES – Merrell, a leader in outdoor lifestyle apparel and footwear, and Spartan, the authority in outdoor fitness events, return once again with Spartan Trail Bohol – the second leg in the Spartan’s 2022 Trailfecta. The race, which consists of a 10-km run across Anda’s rolling hills and its pristine white sand beach, provided a breathtaking yet challenging course for racers. The picturesque province also served as the backdrop for Spartan Sprint, a 5-KM obstacle course race which tested the strength and endurance of the athletes.
Merrell ambassador Sherlyn Fugaban finished 3rd in the female category for 10-km Spartan Trail overall. Vic Montebon from Cebu finished 2nd in the male 20-29 age group and Bohol’s very own “trail queen” Jess Ejoc came in 3rd in the female 30-39 age group.
Merrell athletes also peppered the podium with several wins in Spartan Sprint, including Actor Fino Herrera (1st place in the male 25-29 age group category) and Fitness Coach Rey Talosig (1st place in the male 40-44 age group category).
YouTube sensation Kimpoy Feliciano proved once again that he is a true Spartan beast by conquering both the Spartan Sprint and Spartan Trail consecutively.
Merrell brand ambassador Gerald Tipones, lifestyle influencer Cha Ocampo, fitness coach Carla Piscoso, and athletes from Cebu-based group VDM Sports also participated in the event.
After Spartan Trail Bohol, racers will brace for another leg of the Spartan Trailfecta in Ilocos Sur on September 24. This final leg will see a 21-km half-marathon and a grueling 50-km race.
